Mini-cupcakes for the Innovation Awards at work. The purple, blue, and white are the same colors from the programs, name tags, and posters. Matchy-matchy. I never thought of these colors together, but they look great together!

Miss You Cake
Definitely a depressing reason to make a cake. Three of our good contractors at work were part of the latest round of layoffs. We are having a goodbye party tomorrow, and I made this chocolate cake for the get together. Not the most thrilled with the flowers on this thing. Turns out I am out of practice on those! But the lettering, surprisingly, passes muster this time.

Zoboomafoo (Grant's Cake)
For Grant's 5th Birthday, his mom requested a Zoboomafoo cake. Here is the finished product. Well, almost. On the sides of Zoboo's face there will be candles in the shapes of jungle animals.
For perfectionists purposes, I must point out that yes, the lettering is wonky. And yes, the lettering is not necessarily straight and centered. But luckily, its a 5 year old's party, and wonky clumsy lettering is remotely acceptable!
The sides needed some fun, so I took a whole bottle of those circle sprinkles to add some color.
Overall, I'm happy with Zoboo's face, but the lettering... ugh, the lettering. Can't wait to see what they think though - good or bad!

Holli's Cake
This is the cake I made for Holli's birthday this week. She's 27, so I went for 2 spiral candles and 7 twinkle pops on the top. I'm still working on my cake penmanship, which leaves something to be desired. I liked the concept of this cake, however, and enjoy the craziness of it.
