Operation Cake

Amie graduated med school last week, so I whipped up this cake based on the old Operation game.  The new game is whack with weird effects.  But anyway, here's the cake.  It was a loooooong cake (length wise).  The cake is vanilla with buttercream frosting, but the actual white operation pieces were my first foray into fondant.  It was fun!

Tinkerbell Cake

With the exception of the Tinkerbell candle chipping (NO idea what happened there)... I LOVE this cake! I am more proud of this cake than any other I have done so far. It's cute and pretty and I'm in love. The end.

Tinkerbell cupcakes

These are for Alexandra's Tinkerbell birthday party. Her mom ordered a cake (see above) and 24 mini cupcakes. I LOVE these slipper cupcakes! Made with fondant, I just took a shot in the dark and it worked. The wands are just okay, and the flower ones below match the cake. But the slippers... LOVE.

Mom's Birthday Cake

Mom's birthday cake made at the last minute.  Effective for 4 people and tasted great, but the lettering.  Man, the lettering.  Note to self: PRACTICE!

Sam's Birthday - The Clone Wars

This is the Clone Wars cake featuring Captain Rex for Sam's 9th Birthday.   The top of the cake ended up better than I thought, but again the lettering leaves something to be desired (the Happy Birthday part).  The SAM is actually created using a Star Wars font that I traced out.  The sides are adorned with stars and rocket ships.

Totally awkward angle on the cake, but the cake IS flat and not uneven!  But I wanted to show the side images with the stars!
