Angela's Wedding

My beautiful friend's little sister Angela got married this weekend, and her colors were navy and gold.

This was a monster effort that was all my own fault.  The cupcakes were easy.  120 vanilla with gold candy sprinkles and blue cupcake wrappers.

The cake top - just a white cake with a navy fondant wrap - ended up causing a nightmare situation about 1 hour before I was suppose to leave for the reception.  The icing started to bubble out on the sides.  With no other solution, I scrapped all of the icing off and redid the icing and rolled out a new fondant ribbon.
And then we have the lovely groom's cake.  The groom wanted a marble cake with the logos from U of Miami, the Lakers, and Duke.  I added the court and the field for flair.

I was never more thankful to deliver these and stop messing with them.

Bridal shower next weekend!

Rainbow Brite

Wow, where have I been, right?  I'm going to make a strong attempt at posting more photos as I push out more and more orders.  For instance, I'm throughly regretting not having photos of the two weddings from this summer.  Oh well.

These are my coworker's birthday cupcakes.  White cake, buttercream frosting.  I saw a super colorful cake on Pinterest in this same vane, so I cupcake'd them for my very sweet coworker who is very colorful and bright.

I'm not going to lie.  Making the various colors was not fun.  The end result though?  Kind of cute.

Princess Castle

For some reason, this cake was easier to make in my head. Covered in only buttercream, this cake was both chocolate and white. The white squares on the top are sugar cubes, and the turets are sugar cones with buttercream squiggles.

Happy Birthday Stella!

The "supports" keeping the cake from falling over.
The cute owl on the window is my favorite part. Oh, and HoHoHo.

The bird's eye view.

Princess Treat Bags

Stella's pretty princess party comes complete with treat bags! Inside each treat bag were small sugar cookies, star brownies, and a pretzel princess wand. Dentists around town are thrilled, I'm sure.

80 with Spunk

For Joanne's Mama's birthday, she was celebrating 80 with a bang. Joanne wanted to go with something feminine, but not too geriatric pastel.

This entire cake was done free hand (obviously) with buttercream. It is probably my favorite design so far.

Bowling Cupcakes

Not only have I been terrible about updating, but I've also been terrible about taking photos of the cakes that have been sent out.

Check out Elizabeth's bowling theme'd cupcakes. We've got multi-colored bowling balls covered in buttercream and rolled in colored sprinkles. The finger holes are chocolate chips.

The bowling pins are actually sugar cookies cut with Harry Potter potion bottle cutters. Multi purpose!

Under the Sea

Connor loves aquatic life, but his party was pirate-themed. His mom requested a little of both for his 4th birthday cake. This is quite the busy cake, decorated with fondant creatures, sprinkles for coral, and buttercream - lots of buttercream.

The top is covered in buttercream topped with brown sugar.

Then we have the front of the cake. A school of fish, an octopus, seaweed, and coral.
Turn to the left - note the goldfish with the tiny scuba driver, the shark fin, turtles... and more fish!

Another turn - the Happy Birthday message, oyster/pearl, baby crab, and dolphins.
Another turn to the left - a starfish, hammerhead shark, and stingray.

PHEW. Busy cake!
